The arduous process of producing Fine Meats began by sourcing only the highest quality genetics over the years to establish our breeding foundation. Through the course of many generations of livestock, our farm has constantly evolved our herd through selective breeding with the goal of maximizing quality meat characteristics.
The animals produced on our farm and processed in our butcher shop are raised in a responsible manner where we never administer them with any antibiotics, growth hormones, or steroids. We let the animals eat and grow slowly and are able to give them ample space to avoid overcrowding which oftentimes require the use of unnecessary medication.
The source of all life depends on food and water and we understand that the quality of what you put into an animal is a crucial factor in how it tastes. We keep our animals content throughout their entire lifecycle by giving them a generous amount of premium feed over a longer period compared to conventional farms. The animals spend their days relaxing and digesting their feed while drinking water sourced from Opal Springs. Our animals live happy and healthy lives and this is revealed when tasting our meats.
We rotate our herds on different pasture grounds throughout the summers. This practice helps in the soil’s rejuvenation. Our pastures are fertilized organically from manure that is a byproduct of livestock that have never been administered with unnecessary pharmaceuticals. We also work closely with a local farmer that supplies us with a mixture of premium non-GMO hay that is grown without the use of chemical herbicides or pesticides. This mixture of high protein hay helps our animals get through winter and builds the intramuscular fat for the animals that are in the finishing program.
